Alton William Thompson II passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of 47 years to Lurline Watts Thompson. Loving father of Shayne Kavanaugh (Jake), Allison Romano (Joel) and Lindsey Jenkins (Shane). Son of the late Ruth Faucheux Thompson and Alton William Thompson. Brother of Claire Brown and Patricia Tidwell. Grandfather of Bryce and Ansley Kavanaugh, Julia, Christopher and Nicholas Romano, Brooks and Cambre Dupuy and Lawson Jenkins. He will be sadly missed by Shawnell Hodgman, Ricky Watts, and Aarron and Andrew Hodgman. 

Mr. Thompson was a native and lifelong resident of Covington where he drove a school bus for the St. Tammany School system for 32 years. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 3:00 PM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 12:00 noon. 

Interment will be private.
